What can you expect from a SUP-course with WestWind?
Our SUP courses generally have a duration of 2 hours. You must arrive at the surf school/shop 20 min. before the course starts. After check-in, the course starts with changing and handing out equipment.
Danish summer weather often equals perfect SUP weather! This is due to more stable weather and less wind in the warmer months here in Denmark. A mirror-smooth surface is the ideal scenario when heading out on the water, but we've carefully selected a handful of trips and spots that work in a variety of weather conditions. We strive to run the courses on the day initially booked, but sometimes it's necessary to move the course to another beach due to weather conditions - in which case you'll be notified in advance.
After changing and getting your SUP board, leash and paddle there will be safety instructions and theory before we jump on the board and head out on an adventure. You can expect to be on the water for 1.5 hours.
Wave & Weather Policy
We work with weather and wind for our SUP courses. Therefore, the weather determines the day's activity program. However, should the weather "show its teeth", we allow ourselves to limit the activity closer to the shoreline for safety reasons and spend more time on practical exercises as well as theory and equipment lessons.
